Perfect Steak Marinade March 23, 2011

Looking for something a little different for your steak? Look no more. My husband doesn’t like teryaki, I do. My husband doesn’t like sweet (which is strange because he married me)- okay, enough with the terrible jokes. But seriously, cooking at my house can sometimes be a chore to make something he and I will both like. To my surprise, I dumped ingredients one day and it’s our new favorite for a steak. I hope you enjoy

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp ground ginger (you can omit if you don’t have, but you won’t know what you’re missin!)

1 tsp black pepper

7 shakes liquid smoke

2tsp brown sugar

Mix well and rub into your steak. Let set at least an hour, but over night is amazzzing!! Before I cook the steak, I blot the excess marinade off and re-season with a little pepper (NO SALT) and garlic powder. Its a sweet and savory marinade we love. My absolute favorite is to use this marinade on a flank steak.
